From May 1st to October 31st 2010, the universal World EXPO 2010 will take place on both banks of the Huangpu river in the megacity of Shanghai. After Japan (EXPO 2005 in Aichi), China is the second Asian country hosting a modern world exposition in the 21st Century.

Freiburg takes part!
When the World EXPO 2010 opens its gates on May 1 in the Chinese metropolis of Shanghai, the city of Freiburg will also be on display, with an offering to an audience of millions: the Expo 2010 Coordinating Committee chose the urban development project “City District Vauban – A New Residential Quarter” from numerous submissions for participation in the World Exposition.
